BMW, State Wide Inspections

In April 2015, SW19 were contracted by BMW to update, compile and audit asbestos registers for seventy properties across the Kimberley, Pilbara and Goldfield regions of Western Australia.

SW19 were conducting the inspections on behalf of several government departments such as Education, Corrective Services and Housing. The requirements of each department varied, as such several materials from some departments were sampled for clarification and other facilities were stickered with labels to make building users aware of potentially hazardous building materials around them

As well as auditing previously compiled asbestos registers for the site SW19 Pty Ltd were also inspecting each facility in its entirety to ensure all potentially asbestos containing building materials were added to the registers.

Each identified material is given a condition rating by the surveyor based on several factors such as the likelihood that the material will be disturbed, maintained or damaged by external factors such as cyclones.

In the 12 months between June 2014 & June 2015 SW19 Pty Ltd also undertook over 250 inspections for the Department of Training & Works, Department of Fire & Emergency Services and Main Roads WA.
